Advocacy
The Navigator Coalition engages in advocacy efforts to increase consumers’ access to healthcare coverage, improve the functionality of enrollment tools, and equip navigators with the information and support needed to optimally serve consumers. Advocacy topics are identified and prioritized by Coalition members at the annual meeting. Advocacy efforts include collaborating with MNsure and DHS, educating elected leaders, and drafting sign-on letters and informational materials.

March 2023
The Navigator Funding workgroup designed an educational one pager about the current state of navigator funding. The document explains the impending surge in renewals and the vital role of navigators in responding to the unprecedented demand. It also highlights several critical issues that navigators have identified. Read the full document here.
February 2023
The Health Equity workgroup wrote to the MNsure Board of Directors to encourage them to use a racial justice lens when choosing their next CEO. Inspired by unprecedented racial disparities in the uninsured rate, the letter requests that the board consider a candidate with a strong commitment to racial justice, an ability to relate to the lived experience of BIPOC communities and a commitment to reducing persistent and widening disparities in Minnesota.
